Roger M. Story has broad experience in Motel/Hotel Brokerage, Hospitality Consulting, Hospitality Development, Financing, Mergers and Acquisitions, other Income-Producing Properties and Syndication.  Mr. Story has brokered over 100 hotels during his career and has personally owned and managed hotels/motels.  Story also has extensive experience as a loan work out specialist. Issues are resolved by application of proper methodologies/remedies.  He authored a book entitled “The Private Syndicator’s Guide Book.”  Story is a broker in California and Texas and does business throughout the U.S.

Having founded a number of brokerage entities, Story served as President of Maximus Financial Services, (a company specializing in syndication), Investment Commercial Specialists, Inc., Investment Business Specialists, Inc., Commercial Loan Specialists, Inc., and Motel Hotel Specialists, Inc.  He is a past member of Hotel Brokers International (HBI), a network of approximately 130 hospitality real estate specialists throughout the United States.

Mr. Story, President of Motel Hotel Specialists, Inc., has served as a consultant and advisor to the City of Fresno providing advice with regards to the specialized hospitality industry including, but not limited to how the industry sells and purchases hotels, how hotels are appraised; how hotels are managed, franchise agreements, and maintenance, upkeep and modernization standards; and how hotels are valued by leasehold and/or ownership of hotel property. 

Mr. Story is also a Commercial/Agriculture Investment Broker with 50 years of experience.  He has extensive experience in agriculture properties, vineyards, trees (fruit and nut) and open land.  He has owned, operated, and syndicated farm properties.

Mr. Story has conducted DRE classes for continuing education in Syndication and 1031 Tax-Deferred Exchanges.  He has served as President of the Fresno Hotel Motel Association and former Director of the Fresno Convention and Visitors Bureau and has also served as an expert witness in Federal Court cases.  He received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Fresno State University, and is a certified business opportunity appraiser and certified tax specialist.
